Website Resources Mentioned in Workshops
Keywords
WordTracker
You can do a free trial with WordTracker. Great for establishing what keywords are important on your site. However because of the global nature of the web there tends to be bias towards US wording and phrasing.
Free Web Stats
Google Analytics
We examined this tool in the workshop and this is the service I recommend for quality statistics on visitor traffic. Analysing traffic to your site is a critical step to increasing traffic and conversions.
Search Engine Information
Search Engine Watch
You will find more information here on some of the points I mentioned in my seminar. A good place to start.
Social Bookmarking Sites
Delicious is
the most popular social bookmarking tool. Also take a look at Furl.
Directory Listings
The most important listing you will need is in DMOZ. It is edited by humans and as a result Google has always placed value in an entry in this directory. Remember to do some research on Google about improving your chances of getting listed.
Blogs
We talked about blogs and when they should ideally be used. The best way to understand blogs is to set up one for free. Go to Blogger and you could be running a blog in minutes.
